The Dyersburg community is mourning the loss of Connor Grimes, a dedicated firefighter, beloved husband, and expectant father, who tragically passed away at a young age. A member of the Obion Fire Department, Connor began his journey as a junior firefighter and quickly became a well-respected figure in the fire service.
Connor’s passion for firefighting led him to excel in his role, and he continued to serve with distinction until relocating to Dyer County with his wife, Skylare Grimes. The couple shared a deep love for one another and were eagerly preparing for the arrival of their first child.
Skylare, a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant at Reliant Rehabilitation, along with Connor’s mother, Rena Grimes, and his mother-in-law, Beth A Cordes Leedy, are left to cherish memories of a man who was devoted to his family and his community. Connor’s dedication to his work and loved ones will be remembered by all who knew him.
The outpouring of grief and support from the community reflects the mark Connor left on those around him. As family, friends, and colleagues come together to honor his memory, fundraisers and memorials are being established to support Skylare and their unborn child during this difficult time.
