Austin Dean Obituary North Attleboro, Death:- Smithfield’s close-knit community is grappling with the sudden and tragic loss of Austin Dean, a young man whose life was cut short in a fatal car accident on Putnam Pike. The crash occurred around 5:35 p.m. on December 16 and involved two vehicles. Austin’s untimely passing has left his family, friends, and the wider community in shock.
Austin, just 20 years old, was a proud member of the NAHS Class of 2023 and a former student of Allen Avenue School. Gideon Gaudette, a School Committee member and one-time principal of Allen Avenue, shared warm memories of Austin. “I remember him as a friendly and kind young man. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and staff members who had an impact on his life. Rest in peace, Austin,” Gaudette said.
The other vehicle’s operator and a juvenile passenger involved in the collision were taken to Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital. While their conditions remain unknown, the focus now is on unraveling the cause of this tragic event.
