Alan Gonzalez, a second-grade teacher at San Antonio ISD, tragically lost his life in a car accident on December 21 in San Antonio. The sudden loss of the beloved educator has left a deep sadness in the community, where Alan had quickly made a name for himself as an exceptional teacher and leader.
In his first year of teaching, Alan’s dedication to his students and classroom earned him the prestigious recognition of being named a 2023-2024 Rising Star Teacher at San Antonio ISD. His commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and making a lasting difference in the lives of his students was evident in everything he did.
Alan’s love for volleyball was another cornerstone of his life. He was passionate about playing, coaching, and refereeing the sport, and his influence on the volleyball court will forever be felt. As a proud graduate of PSJA North High School (Class of 2018) and the University of the Incarnate Word (Class of 2022), Alan’s legacy extends beyond his work in the classroom, leaving a lasting mark on the lives of those who knew him. His spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross his path, both in the classroom and on the volleyball court.
