The Annapolis community is in mourning following the passing of Retired Captain Scott Svoboda, a dedicated member of the Annapolis Fire Department, who passed away recently. Captain Svoboda served the community with remarkable courage and leadership, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many during his years of service.
A proud member of IAFF Local 1926, Scott demonstrated unwavering commitment to his role, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community he served. His contributions extended beyond the Annapolis Fire Department as he was also a Life Member of the United Communities Volunteer Fire Department (UCVFD), where he actively participated in the fire service community for many years prior to moving to Pennsylvania.
Scott retired in 2021, having left behind a legacy of dedication and bravery. He was not only a respected Captain but also a loving husband to Carrie and a caring father to his son, Bryan. As tributes pour in, it is evident that Captain Svoboda’s impact will resonate for years to come, as the community remembers him for his service and the love he showed to his family.
